Following last year’s redesign, the latest 2019 Jeep Wrangler returns with the iconic soft-top style and a handful of new niceties, including the addition of adaptive cruise control and forward-collision warning to the Advanced Safety Group, and a fancy pearl-turquoise Bikini color option. Yet beneath all the decorative and somewhat upmarket additions, this Jeep Wrangler is clearly a callback to its WWII-era, open-air ancestor.
Hey, we’re not complaining, and neither should you – the 2019 Wrangler may sport a more retro look, but it remains one of the most capable off-road SUVs you’ll find anywhere.
The 24th annual Total Quality Impact™ (TQI) awards were announced recently, and FCA was the clear winner with Dodge, Jeep, and RAM all earning trophies. What are the TQI awards, you ask? Founded by Strategic Vision, TQI is one of the industry’s most complete measures of both vehicle quality and owner satisfaction, taking into account everything from model recalls to available technology to brand loyalty.
But enough about the what; let’s discuss the why. Ladies and gentlemen, here are the prized Jeep, RAM and Dodge winners.
Dodge Durango: Best Midsize SUV
Thanks to a mix of high-end utility, built-in technology, and class-leading towing capability of 8,700 pounds, the new Durango was rewarded TQI’s Best Mid-Size SUV Award for the fifth time in six years. A competent all-weather SUV, the Durango’s is also a worthy trip-taker with its 26 mpg rating (highway), especially compared to other three-row SUVs in the segment. For that reason and many others, the Durango is not only TQI’s top midsize SUV but also the New England Motor Press Association’s official Winter SUV of the Year.
Making its long-awaited debut at the 2018 Los Angeles
Auto Show, the 2020 Jeep Gladiator – not a new Scrambler, as it was rumored
to be called – is everything you love about the Wrangler, just in a rugged
truck mold. Yes, the doors come off. Yes, the rooftop pops back. Yes, even the
windshield folds forward. To put it simply, the upcoming Jeep Gladiator will
make every other pickup in the segment green with envy once it finds its way to
your local Jeep
We won’t beat around the bush—sometimes we need to binge YouTube videos just to feel alive. Instead of filing that TPS report right this second, take a 10-minute break to watch these great car commercials from Dodge, RAM, Jeep, and Chrysler. Some will make you laugh, some will make you cry, but they’ll all keep you entertained. And that’s something, right?
